YORKMIX FAMILY SUNDAY AT YORK OFFERS PATTERN RACING PLUS POPULAR CHILDREN’S TV CHARACTER BLUEY

There’s fun for all at the annual YorkMix Family Sunday at York Raceday, complete with approaching £250,000 in prize money for a seven-race thoroughbred card.

The ever popular children’s TV character, Bluey, will also make appearances at intervals throughout the afternoon.

The feature race, the Listed Starman at Tally Ho Stud Garrowby Stakes alone, offers an impressive £70,000.

The only Sunday of the season sees the return of the Pony Races as young riders take part in the Dragon Studios backed Series starting at around 12.30

The Racing Interactive Zone will offer the chance to ride a virtual racehorse, to try on racing silks, question our experts and enter a colouring competition. Meanwhile, Remy the track’s equine ambassador, a retired racehorse himself, will be waiting to meet racegoers.

A range of activities will all be under cover, including Giant Inflatables which have included such the Giraffe Slide and Jungle Run in recent years, Joe’s Animal Encounters. the perennial favourites, the bouncy castles. The final programme is still to be confirmed, however previous years have seen the more energetic can have a go at Zorb football, whilst those wanting a seat were able to take to the cab of one of the mighty machines from Diggerland.

YorkMix‘s own mascot Mixie will be on hand to give out plenty of YorkMix goodies, and she’s excited to meet Bluey!

First race is due off at around 1.40pm

Dress code is relaxed, and with access to the new Bustardthorpe development at York Racecourse it proves to be a exciting and entertaining day out for all.
